Bank Fraud & Identity Theft
I work to recover lost funds and protect your rights when an unauthorized charge or withdrawal appears on your bank account
Banks must take your allegations of fraud seriously
You have rights
Once you notify your bank or credit union about an unauthorized transaction it generally has ten business days to investigate the issue.
The bank or credit union must correct an error within one business day after determining that an error has occurred.
If the bank or credit union can’t complete its investigation within ten business days (or 20 days if it’s a new account), it must generally issue a temporary credit to your account for the amount of the disputed transaction, minus a maximum of $50, while it continues to investigate.
Generally the bank or credit union has 45 days to resolve the dispute.
If the bank or credit union determines that the transactions were, in fact authorized, it must provide you with written notice.
If your bank or credit union fails to do any of the above, you may have a claim. Let me fight to get you the compensation you deserve.
An unauthorized transaction is a charge or withdrawal you didn’t make or approve. This can happen on debit card, ATM card, when you pay someone using a payment platform like Venmo or Zelle, or have scheduled automatic payments from your bank account.
Examples include:
When you tell your bank about mysterious charges on your bank statement and the bank fails to investigate or credit your account.
When a fraudster uses the PIN to your debit card to make a withdrawal without your consent.
